Riparian Forest

Riparian forests are associated with rivers, streams, and high water tables in Southern California. Formerly common, this threatened plant community is important habitat to many endangered plants and animals. Several native trees such as Fremont cottonwoods, Mexican elderberries, and California sycamores provide ideal shade for California friendly gardens.
