Eastern Slope

As Arlington Garden transitions to spring, mass blooms color the Eastern Slope. Purple stems of penstamon with coral flowers, raspberry buckwheat, and lavender, and blossoms of the Jacaranda precede the summer blooming pink and white crape myrtle trees. The aromatic compounds found within the plants of the Eastern Slope give off a pervasive scent throughout the summer season.
