Bunch Grassland
Native bunchgrasses grew in thick clusters throughout Pasadena before commercial ranching and agriculture eliminated these communities. Several bunchgrasses native to Pasadena such as squirreltail, purple needlegrass, and giant stipa cohabitate with native shrubs, succulents, and wildflowers providing great seasonal variety.
