Join constant gardeners Betty and Charles McKenney in celebrating the spectacular neighborhood treasure

Time flies. It’s hard to believe that 5 years ago what was an overgrown lot has been transformed into something beautiful. The Arlington Garden will be celebrating its 5th anniversary with a little bit of fanfare and a whole lot of warm wishes.
On Saturday, May 8 from 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m., there will be much celebrating and you’re invited to come on by. At 11:00 a.m.there will be a short program and after that your encouraged to look around and see what’s been done to this previously barren piece of land.
Most of the credit goes to constant gardeners, Betty and Charles McKenney with a lot of help from local organizations, schools, neighbors, and a design by Mayita Dinos. This year with the help of the Daisy Girl Scout Troop 15441 who picked oranges from the trees in the garden you will be able to purchase a jar of delicious orange marmalade.
This marmalade, made from navel oranges, is sweeter than traditional marmalades. Jam and jelly experts E.Waldo Ward & Son in Sierra Madre made the delicious spread. Arlington Gardens is selling the marmalade at $10.00 a jar and you can bet that every penny will go into the maintience and up-keep of this beautiful garden.
